“From the Ground Up, Creating Our Own Economy” is our annual drive theme this year. Funds will go to support the continuation of our organizing work for a citywide living wage jobs campaign and a local campaign to win a community development in the Kingsbridge Armory. We are also supporting the growth of our green jobs roundtable to ensure Bronx organizations are providing local residents with access and support to green job training, placement, on healthy alternatives and community awareness of the benefits of energy and health alternatives like weatherization, urban farms, food coops, and community gardens. We are conducting a Bronx wide campaign to expose how the foreclosure crisis is affecting multi-family tenant buildings and how banks and lenders can be held accountable to create better housing conditions.
